Requesting Time Off
As you open your calendar in a 60 day rolling window, you will be able to make your vacation and time off plans early and with ample notice to your clients. You are encouraged to make your vacation requests as far out as possible, for proper planning for yourself and for great client care. Vacation requests such as these should be made using the Time Off Button in your Quickbase dashboard. At least 10 days per year should be taken off in 5 day blocks to ensure quality, restful, time away. However, this principal and guideline may be adjusted for other time off needs that arise. Communication with the Director of Operations regarding time off is key, if a request is less than the 5 day block of time. In the event of illness, make your sick request in the dashboard as soon as you are able. When the time off request is approved, you will see the request in the dashboard in green. Be sure to use and “out of office” on your google calendar to mark days off so no clients can schedule on those days.
Without an extreme circumstance and written approval from the Director of Operations, we do not allow time-off to be taken if clients have already been scheduled.
On Week 3, you will meet with the Director of Operations to learn how to request time off.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE SICK OR HAVE AN EMERGENCY:
Clinician emergency rescheduling is defined as a clinician requesting to reschedule previously scheduled clients to a different date or time due to an urgent, unforeseen situation. This rescheduling can occur within or outside of MCO’s cancelation window.
To honor the time of the client, clinicians cannot request to reschedule if the situation is not an emergency.
Clinician emergencies are defined as urgent situations which due to their level of disruption do not allow the counselor to perform sessions as planned. Such situations include, but are not limited to, serious medical issues, automobile accidents, major natural disasters, or death of a family member (this list excludes labor and delivery, which are addressed in the MCO Maternity | Paternity Leave Policy).
The clinician should taketh following steps:
1. Block your calendar for the day/ time when an out of office. If you skip this step, another client will be able to schedule at this time once you cancel the sessions.

If you are unable to do the above steps, the clinician can text or call:
- Holly Goff 210-784-6801
If the clinician is unable to make this contact, a spouse or designated individual may communicate on their behalf.
You may choose to make up missed sessions instead of using sick time. Plans for this must be discussed and approved by Holly Goff.
